“Adapt what is useful, reject what is useless, and add what is specifically your own” - Bruce Lee
Client testimonial:
“I was diagnosed with ADHD at 48 years old, and this late diagnosis was a significant life challenge. After seeking counselling and therapy in the U.S. and now in Spain, I saw Caz's stories on social media and was drawn to her messaging. It is difficult to find someone who not only understands the nuances of being a neurodivergent woman, but also strives to learn and advise on the difficulties of this during perimenopause and menopause.
Caz's approach is truly neuro-affirming, focusing on how my brain works rather than just trying to "fix" me. She educated me on the science behind ADHD in a way I've never been guided or informed before. It has been a frightening journey, not understanding what is happening to my body and brain, and I have been really struggling for a long time.
Caz has given me the tools to feel safe, helping me to understand and work through my triggers and high levels of anxiety. She understands my symptoms, gives me sound scientific advice, and provides a true sense of stability. She has been an absolute life-saver, and I can't recommend her enough”

How do the sessions work?
-
I am neuro-affirming which means that you can show up and participate in any way that works for you. That might mean you draw when we talk, you might have audio only and go for a walk. You might like video one day, and not the next. Whatever helps to focus and feel comfortable is the way we roll.
I was initially trained in Narrative Therapy and admire the respectful, non-blaming approach to counselling and community work which centres people as the experts in their own lives. It views problems as separate from people and assumes people have many skills, competencies, beliefs, values, commitments and abilities that will assist them to reduce the influence of problems in their lives.
I am trauma-informed in both my approach to counselling and the way I work with people in a yoga context. Although I subscribe to a trauma informed approach, I do not provide trauma therapy. This is a specific type of support and if this is something that you require, then please let me know and I can direct you to the right resources.

I am lucky enough to work with all types of people, but these are my areas of lived experience as well:
Late diagnosed adults and young people with ADHD and/or autism.
Those with anxious, busy brains.
Those managing PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder).
Unpaid carers, those looking after someone else such as a parent, a child with support needs, a spouse or family member/friend.
Those who are interested in movement & mindfulness to support their mental health.
-
All sessions are 60 mins and online via Zoom.
I do have limited face to face sessions in Ocean Grove, these can be arranged via email.
No referral is needed, although when you book your initial session there is an intake form to fill out to help me get an idea of your areas of challenge and what your hopes are for counselling.
I often provide resources, links to further learning, movement and mindfulness exercises that might be helpful after each session.
FEES:
Initial sessions are $180 (booking below) for 60 mins
Subsequent sessions are $160 for 60 mins
If you need help but can’t make it work financially, please reach out to me and I will do my best to assist.
Currently, Medicare’s Better Access scheme only rebates specified AHPRA-registered professions (e.g., psychologists, some allied health) and counsellors aren’t an AHPRA-regulated provider type, therefor counselling sessions aren’t eligible under GP Mental Health Treatment Plans.

That depends entirely on what you need. Some people do weekly if they are in a situation that needs extra support. Others are every two weeks, or three weeks.
Some folks just book in when they are in a spot and need to talk to someone.

I have a Bachelor of Psychological Science and a Diploma of Counselling. I have been trained mostly in Narrative Therapy.
I am currently completing further post graduate studies in counselling and psychotherapy.
